Word vomit

Hello, unemployment!

After six years of being a corporate cog, today marks the first day of my official “self-employment” (which sounds a titch less scary than unemployment).

I have no idea what I am doing, but nevertheless, I am certain that going nuclear on my career was the right call; the only call.

My aunt’s death has shaken my world in ways unimaginable to me just a month ago, but the ripple effect of my grief has only planted my feet more solidly in the belief that I must build an authentic life outside the daily confines of my cubicle walls.

Here we go…

Current status: cautiously calm / grateful for coffee / amazed I am up before 9

  1. I am so sincerely sorry for the loss of your aunt. The way you wrote about the grief of losing her was so powerful, and hopefully therapeutic for you. It sounds like it was exactly the right time for you to start your new chapter outside the cube.
